Summer Program 2013

Days left before this school year ends, I was already planning activities for my son. Activities for him are kind of limited because of his being a flat footed. He can't tolerate too much physical activity at this time. One we strongly considered is the Public Library's summer program. It will cover more on arts and crafts and reading. The program started last June 25. 

The schedule is as follows:

Tuesday:  Read aloud, arts and crafts

Wednesday:  movie day

Thursday: Special Guest day

Friday: Field trip day

 What a wonderful week starter. Looking forward to another great week of learning and fun!

Culmination ~ ~ ~ 2 in 1

Gab  was a Kindergartner when School Year  2012- 2013 started. School begins in September and ends on June. He turned six Septembers 26. And what a wonderful gift he received! A day after his birthday, the school principal spoke to me and reveal to me the news. He will be moved to first grade! Isn't that wonderful?! Gab was first given a test and he passed it. The principal said that the test result showed him to be on a second grade level. I was overjoyed and just proud! Wow! This could save us a year of school time and gallons of gas. And so he was moved to first grade last October and culminated his being a Kindergartner in a just one month. Awesome!

Next stop, first grade. We can't be more  delighted as he finished his first grade with mighty feat. All things considered, it was a thriving school year. I suppose, my being a full time mom is so worth it.

Science Fair 2013 - Gab's first conquest

In my son's Class Newsletter today was about the incoming Science Fair..

Hmm...Asked him if he's interested to join and he said yes. Yes!  It would be a wonderful experience for him.  For him to join the school level, the experiment must be submitted on Friday next week. That's a week to prepare. Ample time I guess. The goal is for him to gain experience at an early age.

And the conquest begins.

Here comes Saturday & Sunday. No School days.  This time that I am working on my assignments for my virtual pursuit, it's mostly a stay at home days for us. Except for hubby that has worked on weekends. 

My son is used to playing by himself since he has no playmates in our neighborhood.  Literally no kids his age or even at least close.  Saturday is a free day for him. Meaning he can use computers, can watch TV and can play other gadgets for a longer time, which he is not allowed on weekdays. He has his alone time and so am I. Beneficial for me but somehow it's bothersome. I don't feel like he's having the most of his time.

And so I asked him to play around the house, explore and get messy...
